I was thinking how antiquated the Army I was in is compared to today. I found this pic of a quad 50, the platform for John Moses Browning's formidable 'Ma Deuce' - something you wouldn't want to assault without artillary on your side. Then I remembered my old friend Joe Peacock who manned a 40 mm 'Duster' at a fire base in Nam. I'll see if I can't find a pic of one of those too.

:tiphat:

This was my 'carry' artillery for a while -

Later I moved on to the 106 mm jeep mounted RR ...... my ears haven't stopped ringing since.

Saw one tucked away in the town square in Demming New mexico some years ago ..... by now they probably melted it down for a monument to the unknown peace weenie. :dunno:
