The Shot Gun News 'Mauser' Special should be hitting your local newstands about now - if you are a fan of the Mauser and it's many variants as I am you might want to check it out.

An old 98k from WW II was my first big bore rifle and I have one of the recent Ost Front pick ups from the Rooskies - it's a great rifle and still a bargain at today's prices. The thing practically reeks of history.

Thats my second favorite model of CR gun. I currently own 3 variants. A Turk-38, a Yugo K98K and a Yugo M48a.

I used to work with the local gunshop restoring T-38's, 5 at a time. We would get 5 of the gunsmith specials at anywhere between $15 -20 a piece and I would restore the stocks and the reblue the steel. Usually ended up with 4 complete guns and almost a whole one for parts on the next batch. Some of those things had some really beautiful walnut stocks that came back to life after sanding, staining and 100 coats of hand rubbed tung oil.

Cheap shootin 2 boot.
