Imagine a self-proclaimed (Big 'L') Liberal writing a book in which he describes his fellow liberal's defining traits as: "aloofness. arrogance, entitlement, condescention and hypocracy'. This from a Book entitled -

The Bluest State: how Democrats Created The Massachusetts Blueprint for American Political Disaster."

It's arresting when you find a Lib, especially a Massachusetts Lib, savage his own tribe with such keen insight. I fear to think that in my life time they may have reached insanity's critical mass. And all this is from Liberalism's hideous black heart - Massachusetts.

I chanced across a review of this book in tuesday's WSJ (pg. D5) and it took my breath away (worth a look at your local library's archive).

Here's the amazon.com page - read the reviews.

Here's another part of the review worthy of inclusion - with the reviewer speaking of the author:

he argues that, although Massachusetts does not suffer alone from it's notorious affectation for Liberalism, it is the incubator for "Massachusetts viruses" that infect the national Democratic Party. The viruses come in many forms; addiction to tax revenues and a raging edifice complex couched in disrespect to wage earners; phony identity politics without real results for women and minorities; reflexive anti-Americanism in foreign affairs; vain indulgence in obnoxious political correctness; self-serving featherbedding; NIMBY-ism; authoritarian distortion of the balance of governmental power, all simmered in a broth of hypocritical paternalism.

And these are the insights of a Liberal. :tippy:
